I was happy with the stuff and ordered veggie omelette and other food but as I took my first bite there was a piece of bacon in it. I was so disgusted. Dietary restrictions are for a reason and even though they were nice about it and changed it right away, it wasn't the same. Nice brunch place. Lots of food options. loved hash brown. Hot chocolate good too. French toast presentation was good and it was tasting good too. Go early it gets busy no reservations as far as i know. You need to stand in line to get the table. Service was fast got a big table for 6 people. Good breakfast dishes and service was good, but the place is not well kept, food all over the floor, especially the kitchen cleanliness (when you walk to the bathroom) looked questionable, egg shells and food on the floor, etc. can be easily fixed if management paid attention. Doug’s Place is an almost 50 year old breakfast and lunch institution here in Castro Valley. Family friendly. Homey feeling. Comfort food - good size portions- breakfast, omelettes, burgers, salads, sandwiches with a separate Mexican menu. No Kids or Senior Menus. The first stop after a flight is always food for me. Doug’s Place was definitely the place to be. Their specialty is Omelettes but my preference was Corned Beef Hash, eggs, hash browns and rye toast. Everything including the French Toast and Turkey Bacon were all Delish! The prices are amazing for the quality and food portions. The plates are definitely shareable. The crowd was diverse, the location was great, the service was good and most importantly the food was awesome! I frequently come to this place and do Uber eats a lot since I’m not able to go. The food is really good ,especially the pricing and portions. usually I’ll go for the steak and eggs but sometimes I’ll have the corned beef and hash or a light breakfast. Anyone nearby I would definitely recommend this place if you have not tried it you will not be disappointed, thank you.
