My daughter's boyfriend insisted on taking me to a Saturday lunch before we tackled house hunting duties. It turned out to be an even bigger treat than I imagined, this is the best Indian restaurant I've been to in years! Bright, beautiful space. Comfortable booths and tables. Peppy Indian music played on the stereo system. We started with Veggie Samosas. I was prepared to be underwhelmed, but instead, this mainstay app was two big pyramids of fresh, piping hot, lightly battered goodness, not greasy at all. The accompanying curries were fantastic.I also ordered the chili fried chicken appetizer which was A) fantastic and B) big enough for an entree. Great spice! My daughter and her boyfriend aren't very adventurous, so they both ordered chicken tikka masala. I opted to try the Chettinad with chicken. Our dishes came out and the server had no problem bringing extra bowls of rice. I want to pause here and celebrate the perfectly cooked basmati rice. No stickiness, no clumps, absolutely flawless. The Chettinad was amazing. It's described on the menu as an aromatic Burmese dish. It was the most wonderful blend of spices...I opted for medium spice level and it was perfect. Fragrant and tender chicken in the most sublime gravy, Hours later, I'm still thinking about it. I used some naan to sample the chicken tikka masala and while this is has got to be the most Anglicized Indian dish in the world, here it was enhanced with spices and elevated beyond the usual boring offerings of Indian restaurants attempting to cater to timid Minnesota palates. I should mention, I hadn't eaten anything all day and I was ready to start gnawing on my right hand by this point. I am still kicking myself for not saving room for a bowl of homemade mango ice cream for dessert. There will be a next time-soon-and I'll pace myself accordingly. A big shout out to the staff. They were attentive and helpful and we never had an empty water glass. Five star service. I cannot wait to return and try more of the menu. I'm grateful there's a location near me in South Minneapolis so I can do a comparison. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Naan

Delicious food! The best part? We ordered a few different items off the menu and each was amazing. The worst part? We did come during a not so busy time so we stayed to chat but I felt like after a bit, staff kind of wanted us out. I would understand if it was super busy and they needed the table but it was not full by any means. Other then that though, it was a good experience and I’d come back cause that food was lovely. Saag paneer is one of my favorite dishes, but I decided to see what the hype was about and try Paneer tikka masala (medium spicy). Oh my goodness, it tastes like comfort food. I have since ordered it a few other times including takeaway. If you're at the restaurant, it comes with plain basmati rice that they will refill for no additional charge. If you're getting take-away, they give you a hardy portion of the rice (no need to order rice on the side). If you tolerate spicy well, you could probably go spicier. I usually try medium first as I like Thai medium to Thai hot and this is a little less spicy than Thai medium. The Naan comes with twice as much than what's in my pictures, I just forgot to take the photo before I ate them.
