The pics in the reviews had my wife and I so excited. Unfortunately, it’s not up to par. I’d rather go to Lolo’s fast food Hawaiian than here. We were the only patrons. The meals were tiny and unseasoned. I think it could have potential, but the customer service severely lacked. It was over priced. I paid $32 for these two small plates with water. Won’t be back and they probably wont last anyway for me to consider giving them another chance. Sad disappointment. 1st time there. Food was excellent. Both chicken and pork were really delicious. Loved the sauce that came with the pork. Chicken was crunchy and moist. Potato salad was good Also had one of there donuts with the custard filling. Had just a titch of lemon in it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I came here for my birthday for lunch and all I can say is if you love nice people and love GREAT Hawaiin BBQ, this is the place. This place is a hidden gem. Amy (the owner) is also such a very sweet lady. She was very kind to my child. Loved my pulehu chicken with the spam fried rice -- grilled and flavored perfectly. Portions are good and the service is excellent. Amy the host and owner is a lovely and kind person. I came here when I wanted Hawaiian food. My and my friend ordered after being seated, And we waited, and waited a bit more, Then finally got our food. Really good Hawaiian food, way better than the other Hawaiian chains in Layton. 4 combos and 3 drinks was $63 out the door. They're very cheap and there is so much food given to you, the mini is still a ton of food. 10% Military Discount along with it covering veterans, post office and a few other groups of people. Very friendly wait staff, actual authentic Hawaiian food and great priced food will have me coming back. This is a small family run place that has a simple menu and is very friendly. The pulehu chicken is very good and so far our favorite meat option. We ordered the regular combo that came with two meats, two scoops rice, and mac salad. Rice was good and sticky. Mac salad was not something we normally like and still do not like as this tastes about like the others. The kalua pig was moist but the sauce it came with was too salty for me which made eating the pig alone a little bland. You do get a decent amount of food with your order and I will go back to try some of their other dishes as well. Food is excellent. Kalua pork is moist and tender, katsu chicken is wonderfully crispy and the right amount of juicy. Fried rice is GOOD. Mac salad has a perfect blend of mayo, mac, and spices. Service was friendly and prompt. New go-to Hawaiian food in Layton. Can't wait to see how they develop! Okay hear me out, this is Utah. It is very rare for me to find spots that I genuinely like. Anyone who knows how distribution works will know that it's relatively cheaper to get your cheap/poor quality items/ingredients out here for anything. These guys, nah I was very surprised. I spent 3 days thoroughly reviewing them. Trying as much as my wallet could handle. And having wonderful conversations with the staff. My first day there, was welcomed with smiles. The first thing they said to me, "Wassup Bruh." Now that. That took me back to when I was in Hawaii. I admittedly had a wonderful customer experience ever since then. With an amazing focus and a great goal. Cuzins Kitchen will be the one place I want to stay. I've tried quite a few of their main dishes. Which I highly recommend. With plenty of more to come options, Cuzins Kitchen deserves a needed spot here.
