Super buttery southern cooking. It's fine but a little expensive, honestly. Some places blare the country music a little too loud, but the food is mostly consistent. Country kitsch decor and old times candy is available in the waiting area, if you're in to that kind of thing. Placed a to-go order on the Cracker Barrel app and was advised to pick it up in an hour. When I arrived, it was complete to-go order chaos with staff avoiding helping with anything. I made my way to the front counter to ask about my order, and was told it should be up shortly. I paced the store for 25 minutes and watched as orders came out to other customers. I asked again about my order and was printed off some kind of paper receipt even though I paid online and the order was submitted 1.5 hours prior to this. I was told the order wouldn't be much longer. I paced the store for another 25 minutes before asking if I could cancel everything and just leave altogether. When the manager showed up to talk about this with me, she left and went to the kitchen to check on the order. When she returned, she said there was some kind of website glitch and the kitchen didn't have my order at all. I showed her my email from 2 hours earlier and showed the paper copy that was printed off 30 minutes prior to this interaction as well. She seemed just as confused as I was. I gave her my copy of the paper receipt and asked her to make sure it was refunded so I could leave and find some fast food in the area before everything closes for the night. I went back outside to my truck where my wife and dogs were sleeping in the car waiting on me. I woke them up to tell them the situation and we drove to Arby's due to other restaurants in the area closing already on a Sunday night. I don't know if Doordash somehow works better than the actual Cracker Barrel app, but it was not a fun night. The server was great. Portion size and quality have been going downhill for the last few years. Took long time to receive our order. The kitchen staff is extremely slow. Ordered online last night to pick up today. Arrived a little early and let the store know what parking spot I was in. Called after 15 minutes when other people parked next to us went in and returned with food. I was told it would be right out. Waited 5 more minutes and went it. The cashier said she hadn't had time to bring it out. There are 3 other employees in the lobby that could have done so. I have cold food and I'll be late because of this. I'd like to know where my tip went because I want it back. If you don't have the staff to walk food out to curbside then call and ask me to come in. You have my phone number on the order. You were short on servers. We were seated right away and did order promptly BUT it was 44 minutes from when we ordered and we received our orders!! Unacceptable! Also, your roast beef dinner is far and away my number one choice over anything I order elsewhere, however, last night it was very tough. I have ordered this dozens of times and have never experienced this before! I did not realize until I was almost finished with the meal that the broccoli chicken casserole had no chicken in it. Also, young lady that helped or took my order was really really busy. I’m sure you all must be shortstaffed. A lot of places are. sometimes we write things not necessarily because of the person that helped us but because of the lack of that person‘s back up or extra help that’s needed. Could not write her low because she was really hustling. I should’ve said something about chicken not being in the casserole,. However when I finally finished and went to pay the bill, it was busy and I didn’t remember. Cracker Barrel is on the top of my favorite places to eat , but every now and then there’s a glitch.
