can’t give you a zero so i’ll give you a one.the daughter was working here today and service was terrible.took hours to get it and only got a kid size portion.people in africa get more food than this restaurant gives you.horrible.will never be going back.
I had Chef Mary Bass's food in April of 2022 and knew I had to use her for wedding catering (I wasn't even engaged yet) and took her card. We just used her for catering and bar services at our November 2023 wedding and it was FANTASTIC. Chef Mary is such a delight to work with and will tailor the menu (both food and bar) to your exact tastes. Everyone talked about how nice it was to have good wedding food for once. I highly recommend Chef Mary and her team for any event. The presentation is beautiful and her team continuously zuzhs the presentation so it stays looking nice and not all picked over and messy.They were all so sweet and worked like a well oiled machine.

Sometimes when you know your going to a wedding your not sure about the food.....well let me explain Chef Mary Bass is not your normal boring Caterer. She brings flavors beyond expectations to your event. When I walked in to friends wedding dinner and saw her I was so excited my mouth started watering with anticipation. Lucky for us they started with a New Year's tradition Black Eye Peas "Good Luck Bruschetta". While the bar opened, Chef Mary had her staff pass out appetizers of Chimichurri Chicken, Brisket Deviled Eggs, and Whipped Goat Cheese with Bacon/Date Tapenade. I'm normally not a fan of goat cheese but such a treat to taste and enjoy. The buffet was not to be missed with Beef Tenderloin, Blackened Chicken w/Cajun Cream Sauce, roasted vegetables, garlic herb mashed potatoes, Grandma Mary's Mac & Cheese and Chef Mary Bass Famous Good Dough Rolls. To those upcoming events in the Galveston, Texas area with any upcoming events for friends or colleagues I would encourage you to reach out to Chef Mary to see what what her kitchen can bring to your table.
Best pumpkin cake. These baked goods are excellent. Soft giant cookies. Everything is 😋 delicious.
Amazing as always. I have had their food catered at other events. The communication was quick. Service was excellent. Would recommend.

I had Chef Mary Bass for my wedding and let me tell you...there was not a single person that didn't ask for seconds or thirds. I moved to Houston a few years ago from New York and I knew that for my wedding I wanted all my New York guests to have a taste of Houston cooking. I told Mary that my vision was to have tons of southern comfort food that you simply cannot get in New York and man did she bring my vision to life. The whole planning of the menu and tasting was so professional and filling, seriously she will absolutely stuff you with food so do not take her "come hungry" warning lightly. In addition, her staff was phenomenal. I had a few guests with allergies and the staff made sure to hunt those guests down and give them the allergen free dishes. I also had some guests that were picky eaters and I don't think there was single thing untouched on their plates. Both local southerners and New York guests alike ALL enjoyed her food. Chef Mary also recommended that we do a private dinner during cocktail hour and her staff was so lovely in making sure we had food and giving us a moment to just breathe. My husband and I were so well taken care of. I cannot thank Chef Mary Bass enough!

To say Chef Mary and her team are amazing is an understatement! We were referred to her to cater our wedding and I am truly thankful. We had a tasting beforehand at her Galveston shop. The food was so delicious and we grabbed 'on-the-go' products on the way out. She did not rush us during our tasting and she really took the time to walk us through the choices, timeline and pricing. We did not add mac-n-cheese to our menu, but she saw how much I loved it, and so she brought me a special portion on my wedding day. It's the little touches and connecting with people that mean so much. When she says she feels like she is cooking for family, you can 100% see that passion in her. Our wedding day went off without a glitch, there was plenty to eat and we even had some yummy leftovers for after the reception. The communication is timely; whenever we had a question, we usually got a response in one day. As our guest count fluctuated, she worked with us on reducing food, and adding passed appetizers. The swamp dip is amazing! It was such a smooth process all around, that I cannot imagine using anyone else in the future!
We booked Chef Mary for our wedding and the food was out of this world!! We found her through our venue and immediately we knew she was the one. Chef Mary and her staff were amazing. Everyone was raving about her food throughout the reception. I haven’t tasted any of her food that I didn’t like! Thank you again Chef Mary for being apart of our special day we really appreciate you!!

I love Chef Mary Bass, the food, and the people that run the store. They're always super friendly and everything I've bought is so delicious. My sister had her cater her wedding and that was excellent as well!
