We stopped in for lunch right after they opened at 11. Me and my grandfather ordered the chili relleno lunch plate with an appetizer of chips and salsa. I guess they don't give free chips like other Mexican food restaurants. The salsa wasn't salsa. It was Pico de Gallo. It had a great flavor though! The rellenos aren't fried like other places I've visited. They are fire roasted then have cheese or a protein inside with a red tomato based sauce over them. We both had the cheese ones. And they had a great flavor. I think I could taste the poblano better since it hadn't been fried. It came with 2 medium-sized rellenos, rice, and refried black beans. Neither one of us cleaned our plates. They give nice size portions for the lunch plates. Everything tasted wonderful! Our server, Laurie, was nice and helpful. She offered food suggestions after I told her it was our first time to eat there. We were in town for spring training baseball and stopped here for dinner after a Jays game on the recommendation of some friends who live in the area. There was quite a performance going on while we were waiting to be seated - an aerial acrobat was doing various things hanging from the ceiling…! Quite a unique feature! We sat on the other side of the restaurant and ordered a couple of really good dishes: the tamales with chicken and the mahi mahi pescada al mojo de ajo with corn tortillas. Everything was very good. The food was awesome! Delivered hot to our table quickly. The sangria was very tasty and with edible fruits. Since it was late lunch time it was relativity quiet so we could enjoy conversation. Ashley, our server, was very prompt, kind, friendly, and personable! She also checked on us to be sure everything was good and we didn’t need anything. She was exceptional! I was a little hesitant to try this place with a rating of 4.4. Let me tell you I was so glad we did! The staff was amazing! Our server Laurie was fantastic! Very quick service, and she answered so many of questions, with extensive knowledge of the menu! For appetizer we ordered homemade salsa fresca and homemade guacamole with fresh tortilla chips! It was outstanding! The flavors were unforgettable! For our main dish we had tacos de lengua (street tacos with beef tongue). Y’all…it was fantastic! Tender and just the right amount of crispy edges! Try it!!! Another person had, Los dos moles, and another had Carnitas, both with homemade corn tortillas! All wonderful! Would absolutely recommend!
