I was so excited to try this place, but my overall experience was kind of awkward.
There was one person working and they were helping another customer before me, which is fine, but I can't imagine how it would work on a busy day. I had to wait about 15 minutes before being greeted and helped.
The employee told me they wouldn't be able to make recommendations because they didn't know my personal taste, but I had just finished telling them what I like and what I was looking for. I'm not expecting a mind reader, just some direction. Based on the vibe of the shop, I expected a bit more assistance than that as I am just beginning to branch out and try new teas.
Overall, the teas I ended up purchasing were fine, if a bit expensive, but I expected that due to the huge selection they offer which I haven't seen elsewhere. I would have been more satisfied with the cost if the service had been better.
Love this place! Been coming here for about 15 years. High quality teas, friendly staff, and I like that they write out detailed steeping instructions for each tea. I don't live in the area anymore but they will ship to me for a very cheap, haven't been able to find another place like it anywhere.
Has everything a tea drinker needs and didn't think they needed. When I visit, I will get a tea to go.
