This place is awesome! The salads are amazingly huge, I got the chicken tortilla salad, ate till I was full, and took the rest home. Ate it again for dinner (along with some soup), and still had enough left for lunch the next day. My husband did the same with his chefs salad, minus the following day's lunch 😊. My husband and I used to frequent the original Carmen's before they moved to the new location. The food and service was always top notch. But we moved out of state and this is the first time we have been back since returning to Muskegon. Service and atmosphere was great but neither one of us cared for our breakfast. With our egg's my husband ordered the sausage links and I ordered the bacon. Eggs were good but the meat tasted spoiled. My potato pancake just looked and tasted like a deep fried hash brown. If I could give more stars I would. Food, quality and quantity, is fantastic. The service is the best, and the atmosphere, from the hilarious signs on the walls to the friendly staff is great. Do you remember the breakfast sandwiches from birds of prey? Add a sausage patties and a thick slice of ham and if you like it runny order your egg over medium (it's served with scrambled egg). If your mouth is watering like mine order the three little pigs sandwich. The homemade breakfast bun it is served on is light and crispy and perfectly buttery. The portion sizes are just right to start your day on the right foot. A big shout out to the wait staff for being friendly and inviting. Defense one of the best breakfast stops in Muskegon! Food is always good and prices are reasonable. Personally my favorite place for breakfast. Two things I don't like are the location because it's on street parking in Downtown Muskegon. Second is they are not open on the weekends. Otherwise a great choice for breakfast or lunch. Keep up the great work. Great spot to get breakfast. I recommend it to all tourists. Their homemade french toast was amazing and filling. The staff was very friendly and catered to all our needs. I’ve done a lot of reviews but of all of them this might be the easiest five star review I’ve written. Stopped here for breakfast on our way out of town after hearing it was a great breakfast spot from some locals . Have to say it they were on point . The atmosphere is typical diner which we love . Simple menu with breakfast and lunch items that are all reasonably priced . Our server was great and the food came out quickly despite the place being packed . My wife ordered her eggs over medium which most places cannot get right , Carmen's kitchen cooked them to perfection ! Son ordered the French toast and it was probably in the top 5 best French toast I have ever tasted . The bread was not flat and soggy like most french toast but fluffy and full of flavor.
