The cooks here prepare tasty prime rib roast, grilled prawns and ribeye. A number of visitors point out that Brezeln are nicely cooked. When visiting this bar, it's a must to try good draft beer or delicious wine. This place is known for great coffee or good juice. Captain's Table is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. You are to be pleasantly impressed with reasonable prices at this place. I recently moved to Monroe & as a good blogger I was curious to see how well are the restaurants in the area. When I asked around everyone came up with this restaurant, so I gave it a shot & disappointed I was. Let's start from the begining. We ordered a Cappuccino, Mozzarella cheese sticks, Poke Tuna, & the Prime rib special with a side of ranch & Mac & cheese as a sub for the vegetable of the day. 20 mins went by and the waiter came up saying please bare with us, the cappuccino machine isn't working & we waited, 5 mins later the cheese sticks arrive & was average at best (tasted frozen), after a good wait comes the main courses which were a shocker. The Mac & cheese that they gave me was store bought (looked like Kraft) the steak was supposed to be medium, but brought to us as medium well, the fries were soggy and cold. The poke tuna where big chunks with steamed rice (they called is pilaf which is an insult to the Mediterranean cuisine as how bad it tasted). After 80 mins of service comes the cappuccino & by then we were so disappointed that we asked for a to go cup. Honestly speaking opposite to them are Bubbakoos & they served better that what we got. If I had 0.5 stars to give, I would give that. Horrible experience on a Friday night, never going back, P.S. 0 stars as a blogger. Went here on a Saturday afternoon my husband drove all the way from fort Lee to eat here because the first time we ate there the food was good but the second time the food was bad.i order the crab cake when the food came out the crab cake had a really bad smell like the crab was almost going bad. Even the Waiter smell it an apologies about it. The assistant manager came out and told us the crab cake smell like that because the chef said he add extra mustard to it. I’ve never heard of this in my life I know when something smells bad I’ve been working in fine dining restaurant for more than 10 years also I went to culinary school. Anyway we ask for the manager this time she came out an said the same as the assistant manager she also said she would take 3$ off the bill that’s how much one soft drink coast. I’ve never seen such bad customers service from managers before if this was their business I bet they would have address the issue a little better. On top of that I had to Waite 15 minutes to get my meal again which was chicken tenders and sweet potatoes fries because just smelling the crab cake really turn me off from the food. I won’t be coming back here again there’s so many better restaurants to go too that care about there food quality an the customers who’s paying there hard earn money to eat there. I have driven by this place for years and thought it was mostly a bar. Wrong o big time. Yes it’s a bar but in the back there is a dining room, enclosed patio and outside dining. A real nice variety on the menu priced fairly. The bathroom was immaculate. The service was great and not rushed. The food was hot, fresh and tasty. Drive around the back, towards the left of the restaurant--->> it's a different "world" back there ! Amazing and the food is superb - one look at the menu and you'll be able to tell that their cuisine and selections were prepared by a chef -not just by a great cook. Went with wife and 13 year old granddaughter the first time and we all had amazing meals and their wine selection was impressive. I had tuna tar-tar, my wife had crab cakes, and my granddaughter had ahi tuna and we all loved our meals. We just had to try again and went to eat there again with equally great meals. The menu choices are great and the first time we spent about $100 and the second time we had the fried calamari appetizers (it was delicious) and full meals and lots of desserts and spent about $200, including about 4 glasses of wine. I highly recommend this place but you've GOT to drive to the back since the front of the restaurant, which is the part you see when you first drive up, is the bar and is for a "much more relaxed crowd and venue." You've got to look past that and, again, lots of nice parking in the rear and a much more quiet dining experience. Both times there were families, and young adult couples having a quiet dining experience. We were looking for a place to have lunch after a day spent in Woodbury outlet and this place somehow popped up. We decided to give it a shot primarily because we saw there was a live band performing on their outdoor patio. This looks to be a spot that locals go to and I can confirm there is a good reason for that. Food was absolutely delicious - we tried mussels that were on their daily specials menu and they were absolutely amazing. Everything else was great and tasty as well. Their outdoor patio makes a perfect lunch spot while the heat still have not fully started. Overall great experience and this may make our mandatory stop when going to Woodbury! It’s an iconic Monroe staple with good food and a great atmosphere. It’s perfect for families and for a drink after work or on the weekend. A hometown restaurant that has been the center of the town with food and entertainment. Love the live music and the energy. Highly recommend checking what events are going on and stopping by. This is our cozy place to eat as a family in Monroe, NY for years! There is indoor and outdoor dining and a bar area which has indoor and outdoor seating as well! Food is delicious, service is awesome, and kids can even play in a huge sand pit! Live music in the summer on select nights is always a bonus!

The food is pretty good, but it took a long for it to come out. Some of the food came out cold. The waitress wasted food one of the people in our group, and she wasn't even apologetic. The steak came out with extra fat on it. The kitchen staff could have cut the fat off. In this being my second time here, the overall experience was okay, but could have been better.
