Cal Java has delicious coffee – I like the Vanilla Nut (or a special espresso drink) if I’m getting a cup to go, and my favorites are the Brooke Trout and Decaf Moka Java if I’m buying beans to take home. Naturally, coffee comes first. But I really wanted to give a shout out to Cal Java for how active they are active in the community. They have generously provided coffee for a number of events at my children’s elementary school, and they’ve partnered with the school on a long-term coffee-sales fundraiser. The employees in the East Avenue shop are always friendly, and Luke (the owner) is often about, greeting the regulars by name. They have a few well-curated items for sale from local businesses/artists. I love being able to support a local business that supports the community in turn.” Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
