Ordered chicken, it was too tuff. Over cooked Price per person $30–50 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
The cheesecakes were absolutely stellar. Perfect NY style, creamy and rich. The staff were very friendly and attentive. For appetizers we had the Nonna's meatballs which tasted like they were slow cooked in sauce all day and delicious. I needed a pinch of salt but my tastes are salt heavy. The Italian empanadas were stuffed with chicken cacciatore but we're a little bland, they came with 2 sauces that were amazing, a red pepper and a gremolata. I would rather the gremolata on ANYTHING. We also had the short rib ragu papardelli. The sauce was very red wine forward for me, but the meat was melt in your mouth tender. Overall, a very good meal. Its hard to find places like this anymore! This family run restaurant is one of the best places ive ate at! The family pour their heart and souls into this restaurant and the hard work and benefit goes to their customers. Only found it because of meeting another couple for dinner. What a find! Brooklyn Bistro saved the day when we had a large group in needed of a last-minute dinner out!! The wait staff was welcoming, friendly and very accommodating. And what a delightful experience we had! Tucked away in Toms River, this unassuming restaurant surprised us with some of the most exquisite Italian cuisine. In a sizable group, we savored an array of appetizers, with the calamari and charcuterie board standing out. Every entrée, from the specials to the pasta dishes, was a resounding success. The Gnocchi, Cavatelli, Pappardelle, and Sunday Dinner were particularly impressive. The Zuppa de Pesce and Veal Special were not only beautifully presented but also incredibly delicious. Concluding our perfect family meal with cannolis and cheesecake, we can attest that their “Famous Cheesecake” lives up to its name, with both the NY Style and Italian Cheesecakes proving superb. Because we were essentially walk-ins, we were at a table in the back room, which is less formal than the main dining room, but the warmth and hospitality of the staff made our dining experience exceptional! We eagerly anticipate sharing this hidden gem with others and, without a doubt, plan to return soon! Had a wonderful experience this past weekend. As a party of 11, we were seated quickly, and the staff was remarkably attentive and accommodating to such a large party that included a young child and several dietary preferences. We got multiple appetizers along with our entrees, and desserts, and everything was delicious - special mentions going to the charcuterie board, calamari, and burrata appetizers; the cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe; the pappardelle with short rib ragu; and while we didn't try them all I'm pretty sure every cheesecake on that menu is a win. Thank you all for such a lovely dinner and evening!

We went to Brooklyn Bistro for the first time on a Saturday night and it was just as good as I hoped it would be. If you grew up in Brooklyn and remember restaurants like Fiorentino's, New Corners or Ortobello's, you'll like Brooklyn Bistro. It's got that old school feel with everything from the thick tablecloths to the pictures on the wall. The menu is solid with options from the classics like chicken parm to daily specials like a butterflied veal chop. The food is served hot and clearly made to order. The staff there is friendly and attentive - my water was always full and they always checked to see if we needed anything. What we ordered: Burrata and prosciutto - cheese was creamy, prosciutto sliced thin and fresh Italian eggrolls - filled with broccoli rabe and meatballs - fun and delicious Chicken parm - this was just right. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was really good (not sweet or straight from a can). It;s a big dish - you will have leftovers. Cioppino - Reminded me of Christmas Eve. Plenty of seafood and again the sauce was spot on Broccoli Rabe - this could be a hit or miss at restaurants, but this was good! not mushy, not greasy, not too garlicky. White Sangria - nice and light - not too sweet. No room for dessert, but next time we'll probably start with tiramisu. Brooklyn Bistro is Brooklyn approved. I'll be back.
