Cute spot in Brookings. Probably one of the most upscale places in this most southern Oregon coast town. Went for a wedding reception and they were wildly unprepared for the small reception despite advance reservations. I had the chicken Marsala on potatoes and it was the only edible item on our prefixed menu. My son, with a dairy allergy, had plain spaghetti. At 13 I thought he’d get drunk off the marinara sauce. To say it was heavy on the wine is an understatement. It was potent and almost as inedible as the runny mac and cheese. No cream or weight to that, instead a heavy, sour cheese liquid coating. I asked for bread after bread plates and olive oil dip was brought to the crooked, rocking table, and 26 minutes later asked for it again. It came 5 minutes after that. No refills on water, bread. Confused staff. No prep or planning ahead. Overall. Ugh.

The service, the atmosphere and the food were all spectacular. Black Trumpet is in a league of its own, and without question has to be one of the best dining establishments in the region.

I lived in Brookings for 7 years. I moved to Boise ID in Aug 2020. I miss BTB. You people in Brookings have no idea how great BTB is. The best Italian restaurants in Boise cannot hold a candle to BTB. Great food, ambience, service. All great. Enjoy and be thankful. Love to BTB, Eileen

Sorry, I can only offer a negative review. Something I ate violently upset my usually cast iron stomach. It may have been the ribeye steak which was more fat than anything else.
