Had such a homey experience with Jennifer. Provided quality service. The manager Teresa was a friendly face to see walking in. Entire staff seems like family with how well they work together. Food was exceptional. Will return soon.

I just wanted to say, that after dining at the counter and observing the interaction between the kitchen staff and the servers, how well managed this establishment is operated. Sitting at a table doesn’t offer one the opportunity to witness the behind-the-scenes interaction between the staff who take the orders, prepare the dishes, serve them to the customers, and those who oversee the operation and keep it running smoothly and seamlessly. What we witnessed today was a well-run operation from start to finish. I think the one thing that stood out was when a server picked up an order and was about to take it to the table, but was stopped by a manager. Why? Because, in his opinion, the guacamole appeared to be too chunky and not that appealing. That is attention to detail. And well appreciated. As far as our meals were concerned, the patty melt and turkey club were excellent. But watching how well everyone worked together to provide quick and excellent service was the true enjoyment. We ordered a beef burger of large size. The main recipe seemed to include olive, onion, beef, mozzarella, beef patty garlic and some veggies. The garlic blends smoothly with butter, yeast, and therefore, the flavor lasts in your mouth even after you’re done eating. This place has got a nice ambience and is thoroughly cleaned. We got our orders very fast too. Tried the beef burger and french fries. Burgers were good;Its worth every bite.Patty was well cooked and fries were too crispy for my liking. We had high expectations from this place because of a huge number of recommendations from our friend circle. And once our burger arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded with each bite. The crust was crisp, flavorful, and chewy. The toppings worked along superbly. The pasta sauce and some other sauce were packed with flavor, and therefore, the mozzarella had a good consistency and really very little oil. The taste of every slice makes you wait eagerly for your next visit. Recommended to those who love the good large beef burgers with mayo,cheese slice & veggies.With a good ambience and wide variety of taste burgers, The Bun was fresh and patty was delicious. Super nice staff food was great. I had the Steak & eggs. Their menu is something else. Their biscuits are the size of a coffee cup. Will be our stop every time we are down around there. The food was great! The service was slow. Slow Tuesday morning, not long after opening. My wife and I slipped in for a quick breakfast. Our server sat us close to the crossing paths near the front doors so we could be reached quickly from multiple directions. We got our drinks pretty quickly, and everything was great, so far. We ordered our meal and then waited. My coffee cup went dry. We waited. After a couple more minutes, my coffee cup was replenished. While waiting on my food, I noticed our waitress was standing by a counter looking at her phone. The cook placed two plates of food under the warming lamps and said something to the waitress. She continued to examine her phone. After about two minutes, she took the two items and delivered them to some customers seated next to us. Afterward, she turned away and walked back to the kitchen area without checking on her two other tables. This time, as she was viewing her phone and talking to another employee, three plates were placed under the warmer lamps. Once again, she acknowledged them. After three minutes, she collected the plates and brought our food to us. It looked great. She asked if we needed anything and exited when we said no. Within a minute, we flagged her down for an order of grits that was missing from our breakfast. She told us she was on her way to get it, as it wasn't ready as soon as the rest of the food. I watched her say something to the cook and then walk off. She then attended her tables and topped off drinks, and then returned to the kitchen area and waited for the grits that supposedly were ordered almost 30 minutes ago. The grits were ready approximately 5 minutes after they were reminded that we were missing them. The meal was good, and the Hobo Omelet that I ordered was probably one of the best omelets I've ever had. We finished our meal and waited for the check and the to-go boxes we requested. Again with the waiting. At no time was there more than 3 tables with customers and all the tables only had two people at them. We had driven by the Black Bear Diner multiple times and always intended to stop by. We finally did and it has immediately become my favorite restaurant in the Houston area. They have a great atmosphere, delicious food, fantastic prices, and a massive menu that can accommodate any craving. In addition, the service there was amazing. Corey was our waiter, and I am not exaggerating in saying that he offered the best customer service that we have experienced in Houston, if not Texas. Our son was upset when we arrived, and Corey was quick to get him a coloring page, crayons, and juice, which really remedied the situation. He also had some great recommendations for the navigating the massive menu and ensured that we never ran out of their delicious coffee (which he told us is ground on the spot - you can definitely tell). He also brought out a delicious sauce and suggested that I dip my hamburger into it - I normally don't dip hamburgers, but I tried it and it was amazing. Literally the only bad thing I have to say about this restaurant is that it is not closer to our house, although that would be dangerous! We will definitely be going back and taking family and friends with us. Eat here, you will not regret it! The food was good, but if you’re from the southeast, it’s not quite the same as what you might expect. It looks like the places you’ll find around Gatlinburg, but the flavors aren’t the same. Service was Amazing, but this was my first time getting my Hashbrowns burned. Which was odd because they are always made to perfection, but the chicken biscuit with Mike Hot Honey made it all ok. The biscuit melted in your mouth sweet Baby Jesus! Service Dine in Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
