5/1/2022: Excellent burgers! Fast service and great outdoor sitting area. Went here on vacation, best burger place I've visited so far. 10/23/2023 Update: Visited this place again after almost 2 years. Still great tasting burgers and onion rings and are always super fresh. The open air dining area is a nice change from the usual outdoor seating. The south end is open to the parking lot so you get a good view of the street and sunset. There's indoor seating too if you prefer. Burger options are plentiful and I was really happy to see they offer lettuce wrapped burgers as an option. I love carbs like any other guy but burger buns just don't do it for me. There are a dozen canned alcoholic beverages and 4 beers on tap along with shakes and soft drinks. If you can surmount the price tag then there's a decent burger in it for you. I specifically like their fries but I'm always a little out of about having to order them separately. I'm not sure what's going on there but they could improve menu clarity as to whether the fries come with the burger or not because I've had them say yes and no in different locations and on different occasions *shrug* Be sure to try a couple different options, one uniqueness is the variety of burgers so it's a good time to find something new Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Texas Two Step

I’m from out of town but I’ve eaten here at least 20 times over the years and always enjoyed it. The last time, however, the burger appeared to have been cooked earlier in the day and reheated, as the meat was dry and overcooked. The lettuce was primarily the stem, and I had trouble finding the cheese. I’m hoping this is not the new standard, because I genuinely like the place. Smokey air or not we made our way to Betty's Burgers around 4:30 pm. People were just starting to filter in. Today we ordered 1 Betty's burger and 1 super max w/bacon and a basket of regular fries. About 5-8 minutes later we had the first bite, and it was delicious! Old malt shop taste with everything on it plus their special lube sauce! It had been ages since we had this taste treat. As usual the service was excellent and friendly. I believe there are 3 different locations in Santa Cruz. This one on 41st St. Is our favorite as it has inside and outside dining that is mostly out if the wind. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
