I visited Bellflower on Valentine’s Day without a reservation, looking for a table for 4. Being so close to my home in Superior Township was a bonus, sparing me the long drive to Detroit, Plymouth, or Ann Arbor for a 5-star dining experience, especially on a weekday with a young child waiting at home. I found out about this place through the YDL Facebook page, where a local chef's accolades and Louisiana cuisine caught my attention. We were seated promptly around 7:30/8pm, and upon entering, the cozy ambiance and meticulous attention to detail immediately impressed me. The extensive drink menu was a hit at our table, allowing everyone to savor something new; from the delightful absinthe to the bourbon flight and Valentine’s Day drink. Our order included the Catfish dinner, boudin plate, mussels, oysters, and shrimp cocktail. While the catfish was slightly under-seasoned for our liking, the boudin plate stole the show with its incredible flavors. The mussels were a hit with my friend, and despite slow service, our waitress (sporting short black hair and a mask near the bar) was a delight. The upscale ambiance and unique food offerings at Bellflower left a lasting impression on me, and I look forward to returning for lunch. And let's not forget the amazing oysters that kept us coming back for more!

I have visited Bellflower for dinner service multiple times. I was able to make it to brunch (finally). I'm upset I hadn't come to brunch service sooner! Every time I eat here, it feels like a hug from my favorite aunt or friend I haven't seen in a while. The kind of hug that you hold for a bit that could bring tears. This is what Bellflower feels like. I'm always amazed at the menu selections during dinner. Well, brunch is a hit too. My appetite is always fulfilled, and my taste buds are always stretched because the meals are different and simply constructed as art on a plate. I had the breakfast gumbo with cornbread. I didn't know I would love over easy eggs in a gumbo with shrimp, sausage, and just an array of delicious fresh ingredients. I'm happy that brunch is being served now. Let me also add that the mimosas are mimosa'n, if you know what I mean! The perfect way to end your weekend.
