This place is apparently very well known by the locals and for good reason - the food is pristine! Even on a Friday night, the wait was only 10 minutes, and the service was great and friendly even with a packed house; my server who's name i unfortunately don't remember saw that I was unsure what to order and he did a very good job of detailing what pizzas they recommend for what you're in the mood for. The Ring of Fire pizza was amazing and you couldn't even tell it was dairy free cheese that I asked for. My wife got the butternut squash noodle dish and that was quite exquisite as well. Definitely recommend, call ahead for a reservation but absolutely go! I can see why they're one of the best rated restaurants in Harrisonburg. My wife really likes the pizza. I really like the meatballs. My picture of the meatballs doesn't do them justice. They are excellent. The pizza is very good too. There was an issue with the order, though. One of our pizzas wasn't made correctly. I was a little frustrated and called back. They immediately offered to make it right. I was pleasantly surprised and my wife said that action alone would give them 5 stars in her book. So there ya go. We ordered this meal to go but the restaurant is also great to hang out in and drink some cool refreshments. Whenever I am driving on I-81 in Harrisonburg, I try to stop at Bella Luna. Actually, that is the rule for both my mother and sister too. The atmosphere is lovely. The idea of eating in an old stable is thrilling. Not to mention, beautiful. The old beams surround you in unique character. I am a vegetarian who always has options here. I was able to choose one pizza and then add to it however I saw fit. I was traveling with someone who cannot eat dairy. She was delighted to easily find something to eat. She normally has to tell the wait staff so they can make special accommodations. However, that was not necessary here.
