Bear Necessities is a lovely place to have breakfast or lunch. Very nicely decorated in an Appalachian Mountain theme throughout. The layout is spacious with different seating areas that accommodate large parties as well as individuals or very small parties. A private room for a meeting of minds or just friends gathering is available at request. One room is a cozy replica of a den and a mountain home that is perfect for coffee and conversation with friends. The lunch entrees do seem to be chef prepared with fresh and high-grade ingredients. I recommend the chicken salad for lunch or the yogurt and fruit or any other breakfast sandwiches for breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff and very attentive to their guest. I've also experienced their food at a community meeting that was catered to with breakfast sandwiches. Each sandwich was carefully wrapped and had a cute wooden bear pick holding the sandwich together. The bear kind of made my day! Just knowing the care that went into making the sandwich for someone they didn't know made it a little special. Bear Necessities is a must stop if you're in Dahlonega! The coffee was ok. The pastries were heated in the microwave and I totally burned the top of my mouth. I wish they were reheated in a toaster oven so the pastries could be nice and crispy. We absolutely loved our time here! We met the owners, Joel and Suzy, and they were so kind and hospitable! It was such a cozy and inviting atmosphere, and the coffee was great! We especially loved that they did a coffee flight, it was so fun! Highly recommend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What a great dining gem. Super tasty menu selections. Great staff and wait crew. Super comfortable, like visiting family for a meal. We visited for the first time on a Saturday for lunch. We planned to return Sunday, the next day for breakfast and we're disappointed to know they are closed Sundays. But, totally respect the Sunday closure. Good job guys! This was a random spot to stop and wonderful experience. The proprietor welcomed everyone and food was awesome . We were passing through on the way to hike and touched by his kindness . A delivery man stopped in asked to use his bathroom and his reply “of course “ he then offered a free drink for the road “ stop in any time “. We were touched by the human kindness ..we retreat to the woods to relax and escape. Kindness is such a beautiful thing to wake up to.
