The service here is always great, as are the drinks. The tacos are delicious and filling. I highly recommend the chilaquiles they offer during their brunch hours. Shoutout to Parker who is a friendly bartender who makes great cocktails. Was in St Paul and Barrio was recommended to us by a friend and they did not disappoint. Barrio's is a Unique Tequila bar with terrific South of the border food. Service was impeccable, pleasant, informative and helpful. She helped us with information on portion sizes so we ordered enough without overdoing it. We will definitely be returning next time we are spending time in St Paul. We came in on a Friday night around 8:30. Was moderately busy, as expected, there were about 5 open tables — no worries. We waited 5 minutes to be greeted by a hostess & was told there would a 15minute wait but he would tell us when the table was ready. We decided to sit at the bar while we waited. It took us another 15 minutes to be greeted. At this point, we placed an order for chips & salsa appetizer along with our 2 entrees. We did not have any interaction, refills, check-ins or updates on our long wait after this. We were also never notified about the promised table. After waiting 45 minutes without receiving even the chips&salsa, we decided to leave (9:40 at this point—we only had received water in our hour+ since we walked in the door). As a former waitress, I understand firsthand how things can become overwhelming but the lack of communication, attention to customers & delay on appetizers is unacceptable. I will not be returning.

Went there for lunch and the food was amazing as well as the drink. It comes out as soon as it is ready in the kitchen so nice and fresh. The hibiscus margaritas hit the right spot on a summer day. The server was attentive and I didn't feel like I was waiting at any moment. Definitely recommend! We had a wonderful experience on St. Patricks Day! The corned beef tacos were absolutely amazing! The Scotch egg was so flavorful! I would eat those corned beef tacos year round. If not year round at least maybe for the month of March? Hats off to the Chef that created these! You are truly brilliant and created a masterpiece! What a wonderful St. Patrick's Day menu!
