It’s been a LONG time since I’ve had babe’s, so I honestly felt like a newcomer. It is not the place to take vegetarians, and unfortunately we did have a few in our party. The salad they delivered to the table was just sad. The SMOKED chicken and fish were worth every penny, they had some good Tartar sauce too. I wish I had some plain bread to eat with it. I could live without the fried chicken and thick biscuits. There were only 3 side options and those were also okay: creamed corn, green beans(cooked with pork), and mashed potatoes w/gravy. OK, this was a really neat place. I loved the atmosphere. The staff was very friendly. The menu was very simple and to the point but extremely tasty. I love the chickens randomly roosting in the rafters and throughout the restaurant. Update: I'm going to give it to you straight. Me and my mom had such a great time I decided to bring my whole family of 6. That was a huge mistake. It took a while about 20 mins for anyone to even approach us after they seated us. When the waitress finally did come she was so terrible. She only brought out 4 biscuits. It's 6 of us so 2 people were left out. We didn't receive anymore until the very end of our meal. Also they only brought out one bowl of sides for our whole table when the food was brought out. So I had to eat hot chicken with no sides. Then much much later when she came back to the table I was able to get hot sides to eat with my now cold chicken. Stay with me bc it gets worse. We paid all that money for drinks only not to get a refill until she brought the check. The waitress would not even bring us straws when she initially brought our drinks we had to finally ask someone else. They appeared to have 2 managers very close to us that seen what was going on with our table and they did not care. I will not come with my family again. The food was still good, but the way we were treated was terrible. I'll still get a To go banana pudding. I'm sad it was a completely different experience than the first time which was great. Guess everyone has bad days so I'm not mad. Guaranteed to get full. Wonderful place to eat out. I came in with my mom and had a great time. We really enjoyed it. The Fried chicken and fish was season to perfection. Fried crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Endless mashed potatoes, creamed corn, green beans, salad, and biscuits. Everything was hot and fresh. Food came out on less than 10 mins. Jocelyn was very attentive. Making sure we had everything we needed. The singers and dancers were also very nice and very much appreciated. I will and already have recommend this place to my friends and family. Also you have to taste the banana pudding. One of the best I've tasted. I wish I had a photo but I basically swallowed all of it instantly. We met our small group leaders from church here for just a hang night. My wife and I had never been here before, but it was such a great experience (except we had a hard time finding the door!). The food is served family style and it was so good. I had the chicken-fried steak. The salad that they served was just iceberg lettuce, but the dressing was ridiculously good, so I had another bowl brought out. The service was amazing. Lauren was our server. So this place is basically an overpriced kfc. The food was not that good but cost alot. They make you pay for a vegetable plate when you share a chicken plate. The chicken plate is $19 and the vegetable plate is $10. The green beans were horribe and the salad was just lettuce. Absolutely contained nothing else. And not sure why the gravy was considered a side dish. Best part the biscuits. The waitress was super annoying and at the table way to much. Tried it once but will not return. I was told great things about babes. We gave it a try. The overall experience was very poor. The host couldn’t figure out where to seat us while half the place was empty. Once seated the service was minimal. Many of the servers and managers were hanging out at a table in the dining room. I’m not sure where the rave reviews come from for soggy salad (lettuce with a bizarre semi sweet dressing, that’s it), canned like vegetables, and hard biscuits. I will say the chicken was very good. 3 stars are for the mini hickory chicken/hen. The sides were 4 stars. We’ve eaten at many babes but this chicken was ridiculously small for $18.99. The wing was 1/2 the size of any wing we have ever seen. We just had one chicken plate and a sides order and it was $32 before tip. Not worth it for the size. Took 34 years but this was HANDS DOWN the BEST chicken we've ever had. Perfection! Amazing portion size, perfectly done, seasoned impeccably! Outside has an eclectic design, lots of old memorabilia and rustic design. Inside is incredibly cozy and was delightfully decorated for the Christmas season. Staff was very friendly and cheerful.
