I’ve been here a few times and had several items off the menu and they’ve always been delicious. Today we had the Mofongo with Chicharrón and the Dominican style Patacon. Both were amazing but that Mofongo is one of the best ones I’ve ever had! And that sauce for it!! Delicious!!! Definitely stop in and try anything off the menu. You’ll be in for a treat! This place is a total hidden gem! Their cheesy birria tacos and bandeja paisa with chicharron were excellent. Kids liked the quesadilla and yuca fries also. I usually like arepa with spicy green sauce but it was missing so mixto arepa was okay for me. I definitely want to try their churrasco next time. Will come back whenever I visit LI aquarium! A must go-to place whenever we're in Riverhead. I would definitely drive 25 mins for it. Highlights are the arepas, patacones (Dominican style!), and mofongo. The coffee is refreshingly well done with a comfort feeling of home. And can't forget about the fresh made juices/smoothies. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the food makes you forget you're eating in NY. You are transported to other countries. I simply don't know why it isn't packed every time we go. spent a total of $32. i ordered through door dash(for pickup) and requested ‘please no onion’ in the request. they completely ignored the request and the tacos were literally more onions/cilantro than meat. ‘cheesy birria’… there was literally no cheese inside the taco. i ordered 25 mins ahead on the app and when i went to pick up, i still had to wait an additional 10 minutes. there are better options in town. unfortunately, antigua cafe is NOT it.
