I love so many things about this place! The food, the feeling like family, the people--- oh I love the people! It's nice to have a place to enjoy a great breakfast that connects with my soul and makes me feel like I'm home. This cafe brings me back to the feeling of home--the kind where life was slower and time with friends and family was the center of focus. Thank you, Ames Street Cafe!

This lovely little eatery embodies everything I want when I go out to eat. The owner radiates loyal love for her family and guests, passion for local farms, and a new kind of business philosophy that is centered on kindness and care. All of these things drip down into the crew, and of course THE FOOD! Which is delicious. I would drive through a winter storm just for the experience. Closed. 9:22 Drove 1/12 my bithday fail.from Traverse city. Will never try here again.. boo hiss avoid avoid avoid. Going back to Traverse city where Ill stay. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and treats you like family. My wife loved the eggs benedict and my three egg omelet was absolutely delicious. Customer service is tip of the spear. Take it from an old Marine Veteran, you will love Ames St Cafe.
