Truly I tell you, this is the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to in the US. You can tell how much they care about service and presentation the moment you walk in. The food ranges from traditional to creative and are all phenomenally executed. The best part is, you can sub white meat chicken for dark meat chicken —and their dark meat chicken is so top notch you won't be able to find a trace of fat or tendon. You'll think that you're eating white meat chicken but you'll know it's dark meat from how juicy it is —because let's be real: "white meat is the breast, dark meat beats the rest". It's hard to pick a favorite here because I legitly loved everything I've tried here so much that it would be like choosing a favorite child —if all of your children were angels. Do yourself a favor and GO. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Crispy Sesame Gobhi
Today I celebrated my son's birthday at Tashan restaurant, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our celebration was perfect. One of the highlights of the evening was the attention to detail during the cake cutting ceremony. The staff surprised us by bringing out beautifully lit sparkle candles, adding an extra touch of magic to the moment. The buffet spread offered a delightful array of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, each one bursting with flavor and freshness. Whether you're a meat lover or prefer plant-based options, Tashan has something to satisfy every palate. What truly sets Tashan apart is the owner, Vishal. He personally ensured that our event ran smoothly, accommodating last-minute changes to the guest list and table bookings with ease. His professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction are truly commendable. Overall, I can recommend Tashan restaurant for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere make it the perfect choice for any event. We will definitely be returning for future celebrations. This was the absolute best Indian food I've ever had! When we are in the Boston area, this is a must. Service was fabulous. The chef came out and talked to us many times. He's not only nice and welcoming but also very funny. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Butter Chicken Experience

Reservation highly recommended, especially on weekends. The manager was a little rude as we had walked in. Apparently they are low on staff, we were not seated in spite of the tables being empty. But they did a pretty good job on improving our experience once we got a table. Ambience is classy. The server was friendly and humorous, lightening our moods, and providing a fun, comfortable experience. The menu is very innovative, providing good options in alcoholic as well as non-alcoholic drinks, and vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian dishes. I would have liked it if they had a longer menu. Food was awesome. Presentation of all the dishes was at par. Taste was quite close to the taste we get in India. Price is on a higher side. But this place is not only for food, but for an experience. Overall it was an amazing experience, with great ambience, great food, and great service. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Went for a dinner on 11/1/2023. The hosts were welcoming and had us seated. The ambience was great as well, but when it comes to food, it was sub-par for the price and hype - at least the common opinion on our table. The restaurant claims to be fusion Indian, however that doesn’t discount you from flavour and quality. I’ve added specific dish wise feedback below Drinks - we tried a couple of cocktails and they were pretty decent and well priced. Starters - we had the gobi and bao’s. Both were flavoured well. The gobi was relatively less (6 florets) as compared to the Bao serving. It’s the restaurants’ prerogative of course, but a few more florets won’t upset the balance sheets I am sure, rather it will bring me back with more people. Tashan needs to think long term. Main course - we had the paneer eggs, very innovative dish I must say. Decent quantity as well but had relative less sauce as compared to other dishes. It might have been done to plate, such that the eggs stay visible but lack of gravy defeats the balance. We also had the dal makhni which was very disappointing, somewhat undercooked and lacked smoothness of a Dal Makhani. I understand if we are trying to make it vegan but dont call it dal makhani for god sake - you’re definitely missing expectations. It was some urad dal + Rajma which tasted okay. Tip: google crockpot dal makhani recipes, follow the first half of slow cooking your daily order volume to get the lentils right, I am sure you’ll manage the flavouring post that. Rice - THE WORST - cheapest quality basmati, overcooked, clumping together - not the finesse you expect from a restaurant of this calibre. I informed the chef about both dal and rice. It wasn’t consumed well at our table. I am more than happy to come in a demonstrate how to make simple, yet amazing rice that’ll blow away your guests. (Both vegan and vegetarians) Breads - we had some naans and laccha parantha. Parantha was great, crispy and layered. The naan although fluffy, was a clump of dough at places (30%). A decent naan has thickness but not such that you get clumps of dough in your mouth as you reach the sides. Making a good naan takes talent. Also, pro tip - it’s tricky to get it thin if you aim for a round shape. Try elongated ovals and triangles and hopefully you’ll get it right. Overall, walking around, I saw other dishes which were plated well but the owners/chef needs to put a sharp eye to portion parity and quality checks as the food leaves the kitchen. One main dish for similar cost cannot have disproportionately less gravy volume as compared to the other. It will take a little bit of time to give this restaurant another try and even longer to recommend it unless some changes are made. We went there on valentine’s night and this was the best decision as they greeted us with their special decorations. The server Ravi was superb and suggested amazing dishes. The chef paddy’s Chicken labbabdar is to die for! Really authentic taste and we enjoyed it and didn’t even notice that they were about to close! Their desert Raspberry mascarpone cake was also delicious and was perfect for the occasion. Chef Paddy personally came to meet us at the end and made sure that our experience was memorable! Unchee dukaan fikaa pakwan..rite you read it correct. Being traveling from NJ..mini India where there are plenty of desi restaurants with authentic food..Mughal.., Chef table to name few. We were staying in Hilton so looking for some good food for family. Chose to pickup from takeaway menu but prices doesn't justify quantity or quality...disappointed..moreso while we ordered for paharganj cholesterol bature ( they call it their specialty) but when I unpack the package at hotel we found it was puri and chana No pickle, no onion or any condiments. No utensils, no spoon or even tissue paper. The paper plate and spoon are arranged by us. Oh well ..we paid 60 bucks for kadi-chawal, Chole-bhature, chicken and rice(see pictures). Although when I called they lady owner who I feel like GK'ian refunded for chole-bhature or I should say puri chana. Service, Quantity of food is not even close to 3rd grade desi restaurants in NJ, Quantity is too little for $17 a item We had such a high expectations reading all the reviews . My friends local in Lexington, as we lived in Lexington for 12+ yrs before moving to NJ 10 yrs ago, told me same about food here. I wish I had asked them before. Never going back to this place or suggest anyone. Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $30–50 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4
I got the fried fish. It was well cooked. The flavor was good, the Indian spices were a good balance of being flavorful, but mild enough to not over power the fish. The fries were good. Service was ok. The servers seemed like they didn't want to be there. The place is clean and fairly new. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
